FOUR of my girls got their low-bar kips today for the first time ever! All four! It was like there was some magic in the gym today. It's so funny that when one gets something the others will get it too in NO TIME.

All of these girls are 11-12 years old and most of them have been practicing kips for 1-2 years I guess (I'm not sure because I have only coached them since January). Some of them can do kips on strap bar occasionally but this was the very first time they did these on low bar without spot.

And then right after that the older girls I coach (13-15 yo) finally all landed their front handspring front tuck series one after another. The first competition is next weekend and I can't wait it! It will be my first competition coaching these girls.

We were screaming and cheering with their other coach who just came back after being abroad for 3 months. I was so happy that she could see the girls HAVE PROGRESSED nicely with me during this season.

WOHOO!!

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
