I am an xcel platinum gymnast and I’ve been trying to get my back tuck for floor. Since xcel gold, my back tumbling has remained unchanged which is a problem because many higher levels like diamond use a lot of back tumbling passes. Right now I have a Front tuck step out round off (in routine) and front pike (not in routine), so I am better at front tumbling. I think it’s because I’m not a big fan of going backwards but I would really like to get a ROBT or ROBHSBT. Personally, I think it might be easier to me to get a ROBT because there is less to think about, but if I’m just trying to get my backtuck should I just aim for ROBHSBT?

I am a junior in high school, so I only have a year left :( so I am learning a ROBT, as it will take me less time to get, and I know that the best I will be able to get in that time is a layout, so I am not worried about development as much and more trying to get the BT and hopefully layout before I graduate. So I think it depends where you are, is your goal to get to sapphire or high dp? Then take the extra time to learn the BHS, but if you are like me and have limited time, no hope of getting to high levels and just want to get a BT as fast as possible, then go for the ROBT.
