at gymnastics during warm ups we always do back bends and hold it for awhile and every time we do my wrists start to hurt really bad and I dont know why. Has this ever happened to anyone else? does anyone know why?

Do you stretch your wrists out before you do your back bends? If you don't try stretching them out before you do your back bends next time. I know that if I don't stretch my wrists before putting weight on them they will start to hurt after a while so maybe it will help you.

It happens to me all the time.. I have bad wrists so I always make sure I stretch them before putting pressure on them (like gymnaschic said) It still hurts but not as much then.. Do your wrists hurt while doing anything else?

thanks for the advice... B Gymnast it's only when I do back bends

It is probably because you have unflexible shoulders, or at least I know that can cause wrist pain during back bends. Because if your shoulders don't bend enough your wrists have to bend more, or something. One thing that helps is once you are in your bridge, make fists with your hands and go on your knuckles so that your wrists aren't bent. Some of the girls with wrist problems at my gym do this often.

Yes! I can't do a bridge because of my wrists, and because of my back. I wear wrist guards because I have weak wrists: I have also tendinitis but according to my genes I'm not very flexible.

I do elbow bridges instead because of my wrists, you could try that

If you're wondering about my back my legs are different lengths so they tweak my hips and then my back, it doesn't bend anymore.
