My 6th grader has something called "team time" but it is not every day. This is available for reading or drawing or homework.

My 8th grader (same school) gets NOTHING. No downtime, study hall, recess, team time or anything. The get lunch and the rest is spent in classes. Make NO sense to me. Harder, more advanced work and LESS options for completing it in school.

I better stop replying to this topic because I am beyond frustrated...

Yeah....I have 2 Master's degrees and work in finance, but sometimes I really have to "think" about the questions. DD's math teacher is an idiot though and doesn't actually "teach" the material properly, so I wind up teaching her. Which kind of irks me....

We have the same situation going on where we are. And my kids are in private school so imagine my frustration at the fact that I am paying for school and then I get to "teach" them when they get home. All while trying to shove some food down their throats and run out the door to the gym.

Yep...we're in a private school too. Very frustrating.
