Parents Broken rib, what was done to help heal and how long to go back

Broken T1 rib, how long will it take to do handstands, handsprings and things of this nature without pain?! And what was done to help gel it quicker??? Doctor’s ambiguous & PT is clueless- PT says immediately, doc says “it’s different for everyone” with no real answers! Help!! It’s been 3 1/2 weeks since it broke.

You need a new PT ... on who is knowledgeable about gymnastics is preferred.

Back in the 80s, when I had broken ribs, 10 days post-injury (harline or partly healed fractures of 7 ribs on the left side at that point), my ribs were taped. I was told to "let pain be your guide" when it came to going back to baseball.
