I scrape all the old chalk off , then I chalk up ALOT , like till my grips are ghost white . than i put a little dot of water in the centre of my grip and then smudge it around with my finger :)
it works really good !

I only use chalk until my grips are no longer rough, and then I do one quick spray per grip (except it's more like a drip than a spray with our sketchy water bottle), rub chalk onto my grips (but only from a block!), rub powdered chalk on my hands if necessary, and go. Time spent at chalk bucket-- maybe 10-15 seconds.

ETA: heh, I responded to this 6 months ago. Oh well. We lost the scraper, so I don't do that anymore with new grips.

I always scrape, use water, then chalk up, rub it together, then smooth it with my thumb. hehe. I always thought it was so perfect, they showed someone in the Parkettes doc. rub it with their thumb, and their grip was perfect!!! Such a gym nerd :] haha

haha that's exactly what i do ;)
