Hey y’all

I’m a new rec coach about to coach my first couple of classes pretty soon, and I’m working on lesson plans for a 70 minute class of 5 year olds (8 of them). I don’t have a lot of experience with this age group, any general advice / tips would be appropriated!

A few specific questions for anyone who’d be able to answer them -

Is it safe for this age group to use beatboards? I see varying opinions on this online… my plan is to use them for a squat on to stacked boxes as a vault station

Is it beneficial to have multiple focuses on a station? For example on floor, for the second week my plan is a lot of jumps and safety landings —would it be a good idea to add some stations into the circuit for basic shapes and gymnastics positions?

Thanks :-)

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
