Ok I have a couple questions regarding clear hips. Firstly, all I’ve seen people compete is clear hip + kip and clear hip + clear hip + kip (diamond). I was wondering if it is possible to do clear hip + back hip circle to try to reduce kip deductions in an xcel platinum bar routine. Does anyone know if there are any rules against this? Also, has anyone seen any other ways to come out of a clear hip, some of our girls are struggling with the kip out of it. Thanks!

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I’m a platinum who struggles with dropping from the clear hip. Only other way I’ve seen an exit of a clear hip is on the high bar + dismount. From what I’ve seen on another post, it should be allowed but the only problem would that it may not be counted.

A kip out of a clear hip might be hard unless the angle coming out is spot on. I have seen a "baby giant" aka long hang pullover out of a clear hip on low bar before ... but the girl was short enough to do it: clear hip - long hang pullover - cast squat on.

It might even make the routine look smoother if kipping out of the clear hip is tricky. I’ve also seen gymnasts come out of clear hips with toe circles or baby giants to mix it up a bit.
