I have a 2027 level 10. Has multiple years behind her, but unfortunately had a season ending injury this year going into a very important season. Previously has scored some mid 37’s, but wouldn’t say that’s her average. She is really strong on vault, and has a solid 1.5 that she would have competed this year. Early years of Level 10 were used primarily as practice meets for hopes/elite- so scores weren’t overly high (except vault has always been pretty solid). She did qualify to US Championships one year for hopes and has been to nationals as a level 10 once, and finished in the top 10. Feel confident she was slatted to be in the 38’s this year prior to her injury. She has college 10.0 start values on all events. Academically is very strong. Just trying to prepare her for what potential opportunities may or may not come this summer.

Would she be healthy enough & skill ready to attend a couple of college camps this summer? Had she been in touch/ sent videos to any schools before her injury? Does she want to try to go big/D1? She does have time still. Once’s she’s back, she should definitely be videoing her gymnastics and communicating with coaches. She should tell them her history & about the injury and how she came back, etc. If she had been in touch with any coaches she should still be sending little updates about her progress back. If you/she is really looking for help/guidance through this process- there are good resources out there to help (Jill Hicks, Luan Pezeck, (spelling?) etc)

Yes, she’s already registered for one summer camp at a D1. Planning to register for one more too. That school has also come to watch at her gym a few times, and has talked to her gym coaches about her. She also attended their summer camp last year. Her goal is to be back 100 percent by May. We have done an introductory call with Jill Hicks recruiting and planning to officially sign up with them next month. Thanks for the recommendations.

Assuming the injury is not going to be an issue. It shouldn't be to hard to get recruited with a solid 1.5 on vault. You are talking a 1.5 twisting layout Yurchenko... right?

My daughter’s teammate is a 2026 committed to a top D1 school and only competed 1 meet last season before getting injured. She has a 10.1 vault and even had an offer from a top 5 school because of it. She ultimately committed to another school where she can do AA. She’s never made nationals. All that to say, I think your daughter will end up just fine.
