I recently have been starting to learn how to do Giants and I can do it perfectly fine on the strap bar all by myself with no spot getting around, but when I go to do it on the real bar, I also have no problem doing a Kip cast handstand but when I try to swing through the giant, I always feel like I’m going to slip off the bar or I do peel off the bar into the pit and I wanna know if anyone has any tips for how I can hold onto the bar better and if they think it’s something that I’m doing wrong or if it’s something I can fix on my grips. Also should I wrap my thumbs around the bar?

Are your grips old and wearing thin? Might be time for a new

Personally I swing down and under the bar with thumbs on top and then switch to thumbs wrapped under the bar when I shift my wrists to get into the handstand. But I know a lot of people keep their thumbs on top throughout:)

Women’s uneven bars it could be grips but my gym doesn’t want to get me new ones at the moment
