great weekend!

Busy and very enjoyable weekend. Our L7's and L8's had a meet together on Saturday and it was so fun to have everyone back together.
My daughter and a friend were hoping to start on vault. Sure enough they did. My daughter finally stuck her tsuk with an 8.9 for 4th place (age 11 and up age group) and her friend had a great FH vault after being out 8 months with injury, 9.55 1st place. Onto bars she had a great warm up and hit some good handstands but was a little more cautious in competition, 8.15. Beam next, she was still unsure of a series as of Wed., but decided to do the BHS BHS. Connection was iffy but otherwise quite stable, fall on her jump, 8.525. Finally floor which she had been working with her choreographer this week to tighten things up, good thing she got a 9.05. Finally qualified to States with a 34.625 and 4th place (places 1,2,3 were 14 and 17 my daughter is 12) . This year's states are over so I guess she is all set for next year.

We also went to the IGC open house and fell in love. Both my girls are going and at least 2 other from the gym. This was a great opportunity as my older daughter was not really interested at all in camp until were there. I hope this gives her a new love of the sport. She may even decide to compete again this May.

Great meet report, lovely to qualify to states. SOunds like things are really starting to come together for your gymmie.

Glad your DD is reenergised for gym. I was amazed by IGC, we had only seen the website, as it is so far from Quebec, we were so thrilled with what we found when we arrived. The friendliness of the coaches was refreshing too. Second year for my youngest and she cannot wait.

YOu certainly had a busy and rewarding weekend.
