Looking for a gym north of Boston that has a strong Xcel program. My daughter (5th grade) currently competes Xcel Gold. She did levels 3-4 in compulsory, and switched to Gold last year since she was scoring 35's at level 4, and only got one 36. She wanted to try Gold rather than repeat level 4, since her current gym does not compete level 5.

She had a very successful season, placed top 3 at all but one meet, and a good amount of 1st places on events. She is looking for a change this year since she isn't meshing well with the coaching style at her current gym.

I think she might want to try for optionals next season, but also wants the option of doing Xcel since she has been juggling gymnastics with a few other sports. Either way, I would want her to be at a gym that has a strong Xcel program, that has solid coaching, and isn't viewed as an after thought. If anyone knows of anything north of Boston that would fit that description, that would be amazing!

These are some gyms north of Boston that seem to have strong Xcel teams, based on what I've seen at my daughter's meets: Beyond Gymnastics (in Burlington), Gymstreet (in Wilmington), Legends (North Andover), Reading, Yellow Jackets (Danvers/Peabody). These all have both Xcel and DP teams.
Closer to Boston but still north: TK Winchester and Winchester Gymnastics, but I believe these only have Xcel and no DP.
Unfortunately I don't know anything about the coaching at any of these gyms, or how they treat their Xcel program.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
