Having grown up in CA and in that general area, 20 miles will probably be at least an hour drive or more because of traffic!

I know. LA traffic is ridiculous. I too grew up in LA county. Your estimate is actually a conservative one depending on where you are going. My husband and I worked in about 6 miles away from work. It is not uncommon to take 45 mins to get home. On a good day, it still takes 25 mins. I am not thrilled about the 20 mile distance but, that is the distance of most of the gyms we were considering.
