MomofAims

Hello,

I am a Mom of a young gymnast and this world of gymnastics is all new to me! My little one loves gymnastics, but is definitely held back by severe asthma. I would love to connect with other parents that have had success advocating for a gymnast with asthma.

Thank you,
Liz

Hi and welcome to CB !! Be sure to go to your user CP and join the Proud Parent group so you can post in the parent forum.

There are lots of parents of asthmatic gymmies here so you should have plenty of support. My DD is 9 and has asthma. Thankfully hers is not severe. Her doctor recommended using her rescue inhaler prior to any activity that seems to aggrivate it. She may also need to be careful around the chalkbucket and the pit, if your gym has one.

I have two gymmies with asthma. They are now 10 and 13, we have gone through many acute stages but feel that gym has been great for their overall health. The coaches are great about controlling the chalk in the gym.

Welcome to the Chalkbucket.
