it will heal when it heals.

for the meet: place crazy glue over the rip. then place a piece of gymnastics tape on top. press it down and blow on it until it dries. this will get you thru warm-ups and competition.

then remove it when your done and wash with soap and water.

or: make a tape grip out of gymnastics tape or surgical gauze. i don't know what level you are, but the upper level bar workers don't like anything on their hands but grips.
 
Another home remedy is to get a moist tea bag (so make some tea, then press out the excess water after removing the bag) and let it air dry while on the rip. It will sting. Sorry.

After that, vitamin E or chap stick, and a tape grip and you're good to go.

No matter what you do, you will have some discomfort. When it comes down to meet time, you will hopefully be so pumped you won't even notice.

i use chapstick and vasiline(i dont think i spelled that right). whenever you go to bars tape it. oh and also you can get band aid brand blister pads at wallgreens or at any store really. hope this helps, and good luck with your meet and your rip:)
