I am thinking about home schooling my daughter for the next school year (she will be in 1st grade), and I was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice for someone just starting. This is not because of gymnastics---just wanted to make sure no one would think this. I am not satisfied with the quality of education where we live and think that this may be the only option available to us.

I guess what I'm looking for is what kind of books would I need, and are there any good websites that you would recommend.

Thanks!

Hi! We homeschool. For many many reasons. Here are some links to get you started. Feel free to PM me anytime. There are many kinds of homeschooling and that is the beauty of it. I will PM you as well.

My first advice would be to find a local homeschooling support group, or a few of them and stop by and meet some real homeschoolers. You might have to try a few times to actually find one you click with.

Read online about different methods, pros/cons, etc. Here is a recent article in the Washington Post.
