Levels 2-8 and Xcel Gold and Platinum ... 7 regular season meets, championships, and then YMCA Regionals (if coach decides to go that year, for L4+ and Xcel who qualify and WANT to go), and YMCA Nationals for those who qualify at all levels and want to go.

All regular-season meets are optional to attend, but are within a 2.5-hour drive. District Championships are at one of the gyms in our district, but fancier, lol.
We only go to Regionals (which is basically a state meet with 1-2 teams from the state up north) if it is held in our district or, sometimes, the district north of us. We have tried other districts, but no thank you. We have attended Y Nationals every year since 2011, including the year it was in Kansas and only 4 gymnasts went (2 had family in the area that never got to see them compete before, 1 was the coach's daughter so she might as well compete since her mom had to be there, and the other was a new girl, L3, who was really good and won 4 medals).

Daughter just started competeting this year at Xcel bronze. Our gym offers a variety of meets that they can attend. I am just wondering peoples experiences how many meets do their gymnasts do during competition season and what level they are at? Do people tend to go to more meets the higher the level?
I am an xcel diamond and we do 7 meets including states and regionals.
We are doing two out of state meets this year (reno nv and las vegas nv)

These are the meets we went to/are going to this year:
1. Golden State Classic
2. Mid-State Classic
3. Ohana's Surf Classic
4. Deltchev Invintational (Reno)
5. Lucky Starz Invintational (Las Vegas)
6. States
7. Possbily regionals

Our bronzes dont do as many though

My daughter currently is doing xcel
Gold and they have 3 local meets and 1 optional travel meet plus state. It’s been really nice not doing a lot of meets! Next season she will be level 6 or 7(if she can get her giant more consistently she will be 7) and they do 4 local meets, 1 travel meet 3 hours away and 1 optional meet you fly to plus state.

Last year she was at another gym and competed level 4. She had 8 local meets, 2 travel meets 4 hours away and 2 travel meets we had to fly too. My daughter was so over meets and scores and stressing so much. Plus it was a lot of money and time commitment that’s why we left! They also were sticklers on scores and wouldn’t let you move up or do any upgrades without a 36 but my daughter tends to freeze at meets(her highest score was a 35.8 in level 4).

Unfortunately new gym doesn’t do levels 3-5 so that’s why she’s gold this season and not level 5 but it’s work out great she’s loving doing upgrades all season and not stressing meets(she also got a 37.5 at her last meet doing level 5/6 skills!)
