do layout flyaways help you flip farther away from the bar so you don't hit your feet? i want to get in the habit of doing that! please reply!!!!

I wouldn't say layouts help you flip farther away... You should let go at a point where you're moving up and away from the bar, (for me its when i feel that my toes are over my head at about a 45 degree angle) so that your rotation makes your body travel up before your body is completely upside down.

Hope that made some sense.. :P good luck!
