Hey everyone. Looking for tips I can share with my son. He said his back layout needs more height and a better body position and his coach is not articulating it in a way that's helping him — anyone have drills or advice that helped yours?

99.9% percent of layout problems occur before the feet leave the floor; If the entry and the takeoff are efficient and provide enough power for a proper layout, then actually doing the layout becomes trivially easy and intuitive.

So in order to give helpful advice, I'll need to know the context. I assume we're talking about a layout on floor? Is he doing it from a roundoff, or a backhandspring? Do you have a video we could critique?

Whatever the solution is, it almost certainly involves focusing more on the leadup skills and the takeoff than on the actual layout itself.
