At a meet this weekend a judge said my level 4's should move to level 6 next year and just skip level 5. I didn't know I could do that, so I tried to find where that is written. I couldn't, so I emailed her and asked for her reference. She just wrote back and said she couldn't find it, but said she was sure that it could be done. She thought she might have heard it at a recent judges conference she had come back from, and that it just may not be published yet. Anyone help me on this one? Thanks.

Yes, they need to score out of Level 5... but they could do that at an "in-house" meet where you bring in 1 judge (or 2 depending on how many girls you are talking about).
If they are doing well at L4 and have the skills to do it (or can get them in a short amount of time), I would suggest doing it as soon after your State meet as possible. Then they will have maximum time to uptrain and you can determine later if they are ready for L6 or L7 (L6 is NOT required).
