Son is trying to figure out if he wants to go up a size in stirrups. His current pair look like a nice fit with no wrinkling or bunching, but they sit lower than his "true" waist and the crotch of the pants is pulled pretty far from actual crotch. On the size chart, his inseam measures at top of his current size, but his hip measurement is two sizes up. But the next size up may be too large in the waist- but not sure of it will sit at waist or below like this one does.

Basically I am wondering if the fit I describe above with the below waist sit and too-low crotch is normal? Any other ideas re: stirrups and fit appreciated.

Other possibly relevent info: He is currently wearing AM in sirrups and AL in shorts. He DOES have to get next size up (AXL) in shorts per coach. Both shorts and pants are GK brand.
Thanks again!

Thanks for your replies, they were helpful. He decided to go up a size.

GK? It really seems like the jumps between sizes are inconsistent for them. AM to AL is a bad one. Very annoying.
