I am 17 and am going to start gymnastics, this summer. The thing is I have weird knees and hip issues and lack back flexibility. If I was sitting at a 90 degree angle the back of my knees don't touch the ground. I have one knee/leg that is turned inward, that I have been told physical therapy will help. And hips that are inflexible and can't do a lot with them. Would getting out the so called kinks be good before starting?

I would go to a Physio before starting and ask them for their opinion. No one here can tell your exact situation even if they are a qualified Physio as they cannot see your exact body. On a side not I coach a gymnast who cannot get her knees on the floor in L sit and cannot fully open her shoulders and she's doing just fine. Good luck!
