Hello! I have recently been learning round off dismounts on beam. I have gotten them pretty consistent as last season I competed a round off tuck off beam. This upcoming season my coaches would like me to either compete a round off layout or round off full dismount. My question is how can I ensure that I am always landing my feet on the beam. I have had a fear of my feet missing the beam and I have had my feet miss the beam from time to time. I would like to know a way that can help me get over my fear and know that my feet can land on the beam at all times so I can safely do my dismount. Any tips on this?? I am going to post this on many forums to get as much help as possible

You could practice them with your stomach against a cheese mat. You could stack the cheese mat on top of another mat(s) and have your coach hold it in place. That way you can practice keeping square with the beam. Also, try to watch your feet land on the beam. You could also do the round off in slow motion to build confidence. By slow motion I mean doing a cartwheel to handstand (kind of like the cartwheel dismount) and instead of dismounting, land with your feet how you would in a round off, but without going fast/ getting flight. Then over time you could add a block and start going into your round off faster.
