It's funny how your dd can't wait to get to the gym. Olivia's the same way now. At our old gym she used to moan and groan the whole way there. Now she's usually the first one in the car. Today she's spending the day at our daycare with her friends, at my insistance. I thought she could use a day off. Well, boy was I wrong. She was so upset with me that she wasn't going to practice today!! She says to me, 'But mom, they're going to work on bars today!!! And you know how much I love bars!!' Jeez, make me feel bad. But, I made her go to daycare anyway. They're going to go to the pool and the ice cream truck is coming. That still didn't matter to her. Oh, well, she'll get over it! One day won't hurt.

My DD always loved going to the gym but I was usually waiting for her to get going now she can't wait. It could be just because its new it could change but I defintily see a difference in her at the gym.

Since for the summer it seems like they are uptraining, my hubby hopes DD gets her L8 skills and competes L8 this season just to show the old gym what they could have had. I'm just hoping she does really well at what ever level she competes to show the old gym if they put the time in a gymnast you can have great gymnasts without being a "gym queen" to start. Shhhh its a secret but I hope she whips the pants of her old team at meets - but that is a secret so don't tell it will just be between us here at CB right LOL ;)

Well, Olivia had the opportunity to show our old gym that she can do things, with a bit more coaching. And at Sectionals, to boot! At the old gym she never got her kip-to-squat-on connection on bars, without putting an extra cast in there. She was in the new gym for 2 weeks and got it. She even competed it at Sectionals and ended up getting her highest bar score of the season. So see, it can be done! :D Some of her old teammates actually commented to their parents how her new gym must be good because Olivia looked awesome out there! It's not that the coaching is any better, it's because she actually got some attention. They don't pick and choose who they want to work with and who will just tag along and struggle. I won't get started on that whole situation. I've already vented enough in previous posts!

I know that I, for one, can't wait to hear how fantastic she does at meets this coming year!

Thats wonderful news! I simply can't imagine gymnastics with out the fun and coaches singling out people all the time! ): What gym does she go to now?

Well we are at the end of week 2 and it just keeps getting better and better. The move was the best thing we could have done for her. should have done it a long time ago. The next wave of girls were in this week - they were on vacation last week so it was like a whole new group of girls. Some were the same but some are on vacation this week that were there last week. she is still excited to go to gym and feels like she is accomplishing things. She really seems more excited and happier.

That is awesome!! So glad it is working out for her! Gym changes can be hard and sometimes the mat actually IS bluer on the other side. :)
