I am teaching shootovers to some of my optionals, they are doing fine going over the bar but they are either dragging their fit when they kip out of it or hitting them hard on the mat. I've tried doing a few different things to get them to hold their feet up but not much is working...any ideas or drills for this?

Thanks :)

it's not their feet. it's their shoulders/elbows not being over the bar when they catch.

and the drop/bail from the high bar should be egg shaped to the bottom of the swing. it should not be a giant swing.

the 2 girls from :17 > :27 will show you the shapes and the angles.

And it takes time, lots of time. My daughter is going on 2 years doing this skill, and finally getting consistent with the not dragging the feet, although she still does it now and then, especially under pressure.
