MAG Skids at meets

My son is having wrist issues and has skids for mushroom and nude tiger paws for floor. He is insistent that the black skids are not acceptable for competition, they must be the nude color. Is there any truth to this?

I don't think so. My ds has worn them (black ones) to compete pommel for the last few years. Pommel is usually a high placing event for him, so pretty sure no deduction. His coaches are also judges, so I'm thinking they would tell him no black if that were true.

I don't think so...if they were pink or neon, maybe but if they're in a neutral color, 8 think they're fine.

D has worn them for pommel and pbars. He wears black ankle braces for floor and vault. If there is a deduction it is small in the grand scheme of things.

He is likely hearing this from the girls' side, where they must wear the sand Tiger Paws. My son's been competing for over a year in black Skids, including in Future Stars. There's no deduction for this.

They are fine.....even black is ok for girls....
Beige or black is acceptable.....
Pommel skidz are totally fine.
