I didn't want to take over that thread so I made an alternate here.
Reading that essay did get me thinking about the scoring system. I know that the mens gymnastics in my area have implimented the newer scoring system through all the levels so when we went to that first meet and someone got a 15.25 we were all like WHAT???
The girls program howeve in my area still use the scoring where 10.0 is the max - maybe at a national level they don't but I haven't seen meets at that level yet and don't know if they do or not.
Anyway in the essay - it was suggested that they change the requirements for difficulty moves and that got me thinking why not just limit how many requirements you can do and how many of the "difficult" levels of requirement you can have in one routine? I know that new scoring is forgien to me so anyone with info on this I would love the hear from you - so what is the new Max score if they are going into the teens with scores now? Is it possible to have a routine that has the max value what ever that is? What do you see as a possible solution to the overly injured gymnasts trying to achieve this?
