So my DD has started spending time with a boy in her class who is Deaf. Last night she asked me if I would teach her the ASL alphabet.

So we sat at the table during dinner (no practice night!!!) and I thought we would do A through F and then she would lose interest and move on. I was so wrong! She would do a few letters and practice them five or six times. Then she would ask for the next couple and practice the whole series again and again until she felt comfortable and ready to move on.

She ended up getting through the entire alphabet and is so excited to go to school and show her friend what she learned. This morning she was giving herself different words and finger spelling them out.

I give all the credit to gym for developing this skill in her.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
