If you were to trial elsewhere, would you inform the current gym? Or wait for the results, make a decision and then inform the coach?

I might discuss any (fixable) issues you are having with the gym, but not that you are looking elsewhere.I ask because our current gym is complaining that people are just leaving without discussing intentions to trial or view elsewhere. So just wondering if this was common practice, seems it is, haha. I don’t know how on earth it would go down doing things any other way!
In a sane and perfect world yes, this would be a nice approach. The reality is too many have been burned by trying to do the ‘right’ thing. The only situation where is let the gym know in advance is if the gym change is due to a family relocation.I think this depends on why you are leaving. If it's something that can be addressed then I think it would be fair to have a discussion in advance and then do a trial if it can't be addressed. That way the departure also shouldn't come as a surprise to the gym.
