Her parents have more disposable income than we do.....if my daughter wasn't trying in practice, then it's time to stop.
In our case, my daughter did go through a 6" growth spurt last summer (she's 12 years old), and went through about two months that she wanted to quit. As her mom, I knew she was just frustrated, and we had just sent her to camp, so I told her she had to compete one more season. If she still wanted to quit, then she could. However, she has done SO GOOD this season, coming back stronger than before, and gaining skills like crazy! She has no intention of quitting anymore.
