I agree with everyone else who has recommended going to a physiotherapist. There are a variety of treatments that physios use when treating backs (or anything else they treat for that matter).
I hope you sort out what your daughter is going to do and that she has time to practice her kip.

I am sorry your DD has to struggle with this. My DD is L5 & the only one in her group that does a straddle kip. she has really long arms & legs ( hasn't grown into them yet !) and just struggles with a pike kip. Sha can do them now that her kip is consistent, but her straddle kip is better & she ismore comfortable doing it that way.

USAG allows the straddle kip, right there in the book, kip, straddle or pike. Not really understanding how it is cheating if the rules allow it. that is just stupid.

my DD's team competes both USAG (fall) and PrepOp (spring). DD loves PrepOp, her own routines & music. Last year she madeup most of her own beam routine.

good luck to your DD.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
