Off Topic What does this mean???

I'm fairly new here. Kinda. I've picked up a few of these but I'm still somewhat confused. When people are saying L6 and L7, they ARE referring to LEVEL right? Because I've used that in a few posts hoping that's what it is! And dd means 'daughter' correct? Is there anything else i'm missing?? I'm 14 and should probably know this stuff!
