Parents when do you know its time to make them quit

do you know anyone that has made their child quit? what have been the circumstances?

I’ve made each of my DDs quit at different times. One wasn’t in a healthy place with gym and needed to not be doing it anymore. The other was after a cross-country move when there wasn’t a suitable gym close enough to our new home. We’ve done the crazy long commute and vowed never to do it again. Older went back after a year and younger is done.
