my coach has told me that doing a cartwheel round off series fulfills the series and flight requirements. When i look at the requirements online, it sounds like i have to do a cartwheel cartwheel and a round off to get credit for both requirements. Does a cartwheel round off fulfill both arco requirements for xcel diamond beam?

Your coach is correct.
Acro Series – with or without Flight – Minimum of one skill must achieve or pass through vertical (excluding mount or dismount); AND one (1) Acro Flight element (Isolated or Series)
The roundoff can be isolated OR in the series.
