Looking for advice, experience, etc…

My daughter is currently training level 4. She has adhd, struggles greatly with focus, locking in at practice and overall maturity. She absolutely loves this sport. She has really been struggling with mental blocks on beam, and the lack of focus seems to really be preventing her from making quicker progress. Her coach wanted skills by beginning of this month and she is still not there.

I am wondering if switching over to xcel gold maybe, would give her way more time to get these skills and hopefully another year with the maturity— i’ve seen big jumps in maturity each year. Anyone have experience of doing xcel gold then getting the 2 36.00 in level 4 to move to level 6? Is that a solid plan? Gives her more time with these current skills and time to mature more.

We have a meeting with her coach in a week, just looking for experiences and opinions.

Thanks

My daughter(10) has the same exact issues and she did 2 years of level 4 and was still struggling(her struggle was the kip on bars and staying tight for beam/floor) so we opted for a year of xcel gold this season instead of level 5. It has been so great for her. She has really enjoyed it and gotten so many new skills and improved. Plus placing at ever meet which has helped her confidence. Since she already has gotten a 34 for level 4 she will test out of 5(need a 32) this summer to move to level 6(possibly even 7). I’d highly suggest this route if she’s struggling.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
