I’m looking for some feedback on my floor routine and hoping to get some outside eyes on what I should fix or change. I scored a 9.05, but I know there are areas that need work, and I’d like to understand what’s holding the routine back from scoring higher.

I attached a video of the routine — it wasn’t my best one since I fell on my layout, but the rest of it is pretty typical of how I’ve been performing it. I’d appreciate any thoughts on things like:

- Technique issues
- Tumbling choices
- Dance quality or connections
- Routine composition
- Any deductions I might not be noticing

I don’t really have a coach right now, so I am definitely open to any advice anyone has!

First off, a 9 with a fall is amazing! That's five whole tenths right there.

Your layout was also piked, so they could take for shape.

On your first pass, you step forward and then back. Don't step back, just do the controlled lunge forward.

And then in all your dance, I'd just really focus on your feet. They look just there especially in your opening choreography.

Oh, I suppose you didn't say what level you are - that will help for any composition questions - but really, you're doing quite well.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
