Ok so I’m going to my first state competition next month. I’m in silver, and I’m wondering are awards by event or just All Around?

In Washington, it is only the all around for Xcel silver. Event awards start at gold

Is that a new thing this year or has it always been like that?

It's been like that as long as I coached Xcel (2019). All of the meets our gym attends are the same way.
