Hi, my dd is training the yurchenko full and has a great one into the pit. She wants It for season (February). Any experience with the skill? She is a 12 (almost 13) year old level 10 training for junior elite.

IF she can spot the ground properly, it's easier and less scary than a non-twisting Yurchenko.

She should be comfortable doing a double front 1/2-out and a double back 1/1-out; Ideally, she should be able to do these straight up and down on a trampoline (a mat throw for the landing is fine); however, if she can do them off a tumbletrak or mini tramp into a pit, that's the next-best thing.

The key is that after she comes off the table, she should be able to watch the landing for the entire rest of the vault without ever losing sight of it, especially in the last 1/2.

My daughter also has a great yurchenko full. She’s 12 too but only a level nine (so she can’t even compete it). All of her over skills are very much level 9 skills, this came out of nowhere and makes me encouraged that she might be able to go to compete in college. Her progression was pit, mat in pit stacked to a little above floor height, floor.
