Just see too many girls get to western, then burnout and quit gymnastics. Don’t know why since they are already very good at it , just feel so Sorry for them !
I see so many level 9 gymnasts try very hard to get on western , then the next year they get to a point where they just burnt out and quit maybe because of too much injuries or other reasons just don’t have fun anymore. I am thinking maybe leting go the Western, and savinvg energy for level 10...
Any updates? Heard good things about the Best Darn College Camp. Our gym recommends makkeitright camp . We still are not sure which one to go. My dd is level 9, freshman, wants to do college gymnastics .
Quitting gymnasts sometimes is not a bad choice when your body can’t handle it all. Life has so many options and opportunities , not all just about gymnastics. Maybe you can fall in love with other sports or other activities and become excel at them, because you are still young .
That is a true story from Jill Nick consultant . One of her clients got accepted to college Acro and tumbling team , only competed level 8 . She almost gave up.
Level 5 , 11 year old is not that late. Some gymnasts still get a full scholarship for tumbling , just competing level 8 when in high school junior year.
I am thinking about skipping one practice a week , though coach might not happy . Maybe it will work. The training hours of other gyms conflicts with my old one . It is complicated with two kids. Not just driving
It is very difficult to drive half hour to another gym with less training hours, I feel I might get stressed out for long driving . The Reality is harsh. Either switch sports , or continue stay.
How to identify if your dd gymnasts might get overtrained? It is hard to know how many hours is the right hours for your kids. I don’t think it is based on level? . It should be based on the age ? Or something else?
