    WAG 8th grade Verbal recruit

While I agree, college football recruiting is at a totally different level, with runners etc, this particular event at Oklahoma State Univeristy (OSU) has for the most part fallen apart. As the two "whistle blowers" have been discreditied with quite a bit of their provided information. The...

    WAG College recruiting

@ stormy you might be right in your assumption that once a walk always a walk since scholarships are so limited. Though I know in say football, walks often earn scholarships later on in their career. My DD is hoping for the same. If she progress as she has been she will be a lvl 10 freshman...

    WAG College recruiting

From what I've read Div. I schools have 12 scholarships available and about 20 team spots. Do schools often habe preferred walk ons who earn scholarships later? Or do walk ons receive a large pell grant or something equivalent to offset cost?

    WAG 8th grade Verbal recruit

@4theloveofsports Verbal commitments are nonbinding and this goes both ways. A school can just as easily drop an athlete as an athlete can switch schools. It means nothing to the NCAA and that's what matters. Recruiting is regulated by the NCAA (or NAIA) and they set all the rules. A school...

WAG Warm Ups for keeping warm?

Heck, sometimes they don't even wear them to the march out.

    WAG 8th grade Verbal recruit

Just to add, I'm fairly certain, though I could be wrong, you can't sign an LOI until your senior year. So all those kids with verbals to where ever are fair game to still be recruited by other Univiersities.

    WAG 8th grade Verbal recruit

A verbal committment is not binding to the school or the athlete. The committment doesn't happen until an ahtlete signs a letter of intent (LOI). This is especially true in revenue generating sports (not sure for olympic), but kids with verbal committments, get "flipped" to other schools all...

    Parents Leotard costs

Just out of curiosity, why do clubs choose to have the more elaborate loetards?

WAG It's that time of year, anyone know the NCAA contact information?

Dr. Hitt from UCF, he doesn't have a dog in this fight, as UCF doesn't have WAG/MAG, but he is very aggresive towards keeping recruiting on a level playing field. Though, many of these members are probably busy with the autonomy fight going on between the P5 and G5 FBS football.

WAG Changing Gyms at upper levels

I had my DD switch to another gym just 4 weeks ago. Though not a level 9/10, I will share some of the experience. The decision to leave isn't easy, and I did quite a bit of research on here reading old threads about gym switches. I tend to agree, that if your thinking of a switch you're...

I'd like to join. DD is in this level.

    Parents Parent Observation Policies

I can understand both sides. Especially with some overzealous parents. I'm sure a compromise is out there for the gyms that are completely closed to parents. Unfortunately, these types of decisions are usually based off of past experiences and aren’t necessarily based on the current group of...

Parents What do you really wish you could tell the coach?

Wow. We have a very similar experience.

Off Topic Our? A little rant...

I was just stating my own personnel evolution as a gym parent. Different for everybody. I agree with you, nothing wrong with it all.

Off Topic Our? A little rant...

The Her/He, us/we doesn't bother me. I think generally, if I say we or hear someone say we, it's not intended as an inclusion to the kid actually doing the sport. I don't take it as me or another parent feeling as if we accomplished anything in the world of gymnastics. Aussie_Coach, I do...
