    Grades

I know several girls in that region, a few did national 4 and are doing many more hours than your dd. More like 18-24!! I would go with what suits your situation best. My dds always want more hours in the gym but its hard to keep a balance for the family.

    Parents Curious?

The gym year runs Jan-Dec so she will be one of the oldest but won't be able to do grades/levels for two years. Most gyms I know would be starting to develop 5-6 years old in preparation for competing.

    Parents Catching up in strength?

I think it depends on the child. I have one strong and one not so strong gymnast. The one that isn't so strong manages enough to get by with the moves but will never be the strongest in the group. It takes an awful lot of willpower to build up the strength if it doesn't come naturally. That...

WAG Seeking advice ...very lengthy, sorry

A friend of my dd was emotionally abused for years by her coach and yet she came back day after day for years and just kept working away, was a very quiet/meek child who wouldn't say boo to a goose. Eventually her mum realised that things weren't right and moved her to another gym (she was...

    Asking to do grades?

Well done to your DD and I really like the fact that HC really listened to her - that's certainly not the same at all clubs!!

    Upstart

Lol she sounds like my oldest who was competing on her 7th birthday and desperately wanted her upstart! She managed to get it on both low and high bars just in time and was over the moon! It is the most frustrating skill as there seems to be no logical way of explaining it to a child - they need...

    Upstart

Well done to your dd! Must be something in the air as my middle monkey (7) got her upstart yesterday after what seems like forever training it (probably just a couple of months lol!) and also flicked on high beam! She was well chuffed!

Parents Question about pics at old club

We have a similar situation where my dd was used as the club's "poster girl" and keeps appearing on flyers and in newspaper ads etc - have wondered whether to put a stop to it

    WAG Nail polish?

She was super cute for staying home, not so much for taking nanny for a birthday dinner!! That said my 3 yr old son thinks nail varnish is totally normal for a boy (much to his father's disgust!!). With two older sisters there's no hope!

    WAG Nail polish?

Lol my 7yr old daughter decided to try makeup yesterday just before we headed out for nanny's birthday. Whilst she is very adept at colouring her eye make up skills, especially with dark blue eye shadow, left a lot to be desired. I have tried tactfully to suggest she revisits make up in 10 years...

WAG Advise for mom for first meet

That's a lovely story, I love how the girls pull together at such young ages and are genuinely happy for their friends/training partners!

    Uk level 5 & grade 14

Should be fairly obvious based on where your gym is, ie East Midlands, south, east, London, north west etc but check where you think you might be and look up some old results to see if your club is on there. Your region will likely have a website with old results and maybe the skills listed...
