Rules and Policies state you cant drop back a level in the same season once you compete a level but I think there's an exception in there somewhere. We wanted to do level 6 but try just one meet as a level 7 to see how big of a difference it made in their scores this season, but the rules stated...
The back tuck is high and nice kick out. The front lands standing up but doesn't extend before landing. We have a low key meet this weekend so we'll try it;)
Thanks for the reply and vote of confidence to try it out!
Im thinking about swapping out one pass for another and need advice:
Current 2 tumbling passes in routine:
1st pass:Roundoff, flip flop, full
2nd pass: front pike, front tuck
(The 2nd pass is clean but the front tuck finishes a little low)
Routine scores normally around a 9.0
Its a short...
At the setting with the cleanest and strongest turn over. I know it's not the answer your probably looking for. Another coach (men's coach) in my gym goes with the kids shoulder height. I don't like hard rules because I think it won't fit all kids.
For the 20 years that I sat, sharing a meal with judges I have only witnessed conversation amongst judges and coaches about stuff outside the gymnastics world. We save questions and such for when we are in clinics or during the actual meet. We are all adults and behave so during meals:)
Level 7:
Bars: giant or clear hip to handstand and cast handstand
Beam: solid series
Floor: layout
This is what Im using
My 6's are throwing the series on beam this weekend as a test but they don't know it's a test;)
Yes. I believe it's a 9.5 start value. I have two kids like yours. Their clear hip is actually 3/4 to handstand but struggle with the glide on low bar coming out of it. Because this is a strength issue I can't fix over night, I prefer they do the clear hip on high bar. They are just getting the...
I think there has to be a circling element such as: clear-hip or stalder to fulfill SR. I'm thinking any 1st year optional or kid new to giants is going to lose a tenth or more for bent arms or shape, so I'm going with the 9.9 start value routine. We are thinking about throwing a level 7 routine...
That's a great question. I believe it has to do with fundraising and communication issues. Not everyone is of this thinking. A few parents brought the topic up and I thought I would look into it with others who might have some real experience;)
Im torn right now as some of our gym parents want to see the booster club separate. I don't want to see competition in the gym amongst the parents with fundraising, etc. Anyone have experience with two clubs in one gym? How does it work? Would you change it to one club if you could?
Thanks!
