My daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis four years ago when she was 11. She has an s-curve. Top curve was around 23 degrees and bottom curve was 14 degrees. She still had lots of growing to do. Before deciding on using a brace, we decided to try physical therapy first. She went to a scoliosis...
I'm pretty sure she has the right size (medium short). The first time she wore them in the gym she kept on adjusting them pulling them up the back of her foot because they would slip down a little when she ran or jumped. They never fell off but it bothered her because it would slip down and just...
How does your gymmie keep the X brace from slipping off? My dd tried it but she complained that it kept slipping down the back of her foot near her heel every time she would run or jump so she gave up on it. :(
My DD called me last night just before lights out. We only talked for a couple of minutes. She said she mets lots of new girls and has made some new friends. She said physical abilities went well. I could hear the girls in her cabin laughing and talking in the background so it sounded like they...
Congratulations to all the girls who qualified to National testing! My DD is 10-years-old so this will be her last year of TOPs. Good luck to all the girls and hope they all do great!
I came up with 183.2 for your daughter. Not sure if this is right but this is what I did:
62 x 1.6 = 99.2 skills weighted
60 x 1.4 = 84 PA weighted
Total score = 183.2
Skills had a maximum total of 72 points and physical abilities I think were out of 60 points. Then those scores are weighted 60/40. Don't know what the highest scores are for each age group.
The 8 – 9 – 10 year-olds scores were weighted as follows:
40% Physical Abilities
60% State Skill Testing
The cutoff scores for each age group are as follows:
8 year olds: 115.08
9 year olds: 125.13
10 year olds: 142.12
Gymnasts would have to score at least that score or higher to be...
