@raenndrops Can you describe the tape position a little bit more? I think this could potentially help my DD, but I’m really bad at visualizing things. Thanks!
So we’re at Mall of America for regionals and my gymnast wants to go on the amusement park rides, but I’m worried it could have an effect on her vestibular system. I always remember feeling like my bed is moving after being at an amusement park. She competes tomorrow afternoon. Any advice?
Thanks! I was also just wondering if there is any more pomp and circumstance to it. My daughter was saying something like you compete for your state and wear a state leo rather than your gym’s leo?
How do DP Regionals differ from other meets? My daughter is L6 and going for the first time. Our state meet just seems like any other meet except for the random start order and the USAG-branded medals, so I’m just wondering what to expect. Thanks!
Take this with a grain of salt because I’m just a parent, but you might want to consider whether you twist the same direction as you do your round off. My daughter does her RO as a righty, but twists like a lefty. Those with more gymnastics knowledge noted that this may make it harder for her...
Not what you asked, but in case it’s helpful, my daughter’s competition leo is always so uncomfortable as well. Two things that have helped us:
1. Having the sleeves lined with a nude hosiery-like material. I don’t know what your competition leo is like, but ours always has mesh sleeves with...
I don’t know for sure, but once she started dancing, my DD started doing her leaps from developpe. Her gymnastics coach was not happy and says it’s a deduction (USAG DP). 🤷♀️
Can someone help me understand the dance/leap/jump requirements for Level 6? I know they need a 180 split in something, but can it be a leap or a jump? Does every leap/jump they do have to hit 180 or just one? Like if you do a switch leap to straddle jump, do both have to hit 180? Also, what...
I’m not a coach, but at our gym privates are booked through the coach, but billed through the gym with the gym taking 50% (which seems like a lot to me).
Like Raenndrops said, please don’t assume they aren’t giving their best effort just because it doesn’t look the same as what the NT girls can produce.
Games and contests for drills/rotations can help, but you do have to switch it up because (as you observed) the novelty wears off (and ADHDers...
Thank you! That’s not an angle I had really considered, but it makes sense. I do try to tell her those things and she is hard on herself, but mainly I think that she’s scared that the coaches will put pressure on her right away. They were pretty down on her right before we went to the doctor...
