WAG Fear of falling on beam

Stare down the end of the beam. Have a staring competition with it. That will help you stay on. As for confidence, practice practice practice. Also deep breaths. Try to clear your head of all thoughts.

Parents which is best app for communication?

Remind works well for all my school teams so I'd think it would work well.

    Anon Coaching Style abusive?

This definitely sounds abusive. Having been in an abusive gym, get your kid out as fast as possible!

Off Topic What do competitive gymnasts eat in a day?

Focusing on food too much at a young age is dangerous. Healthy, growing children should be eating 3 meals and 3 snacks with no more than 3 hours between eating times. I am in eating disorder recovery, and my eating disorder was definitely in part caused by gymnastics. Here's an example of...

    WAG eating disorders

As somebody with an eating disorder, I really think it depends on a lot. For me, I struggle with bulimia and gymnastics definitely fed my eating disorder. Mine started as a result of trying to numb out with food. I was overwhelmed after my parents' divorce, and the bullying at school was...

    Gymnasts Muscle soreness

If you stretch adequately I've never injured myself pushing through soreness. Start small and work your way up though if you are nervous.

    Gymnasts Muscle soreness

As Coach Kate said, electrolytes. I personally would recommend LIquid IV. The other thing is make sure you're stretching. Do everything at practice as your body allows. Meaning, know the difference between sore and pain. Push through being sore but stop at pain.

WAG AAI CamLock Uneven Bar Cable Tighteners Slipping Down

We had those at my last gym. Only certain gymnasts were allowed to do anything to it. Myself, I found I was pretty constantly having to tighten it. Not sure why it loses tension but it most definitely does.

Coaches my vault? please give feedback!!

So I don't know specific point values, but I'm seeing a few things. As has been stated above, the shoulder block and timing leaving the table are definite problems. Also the landing and how you are going crooked. The other thing that I saw is that your legs are slightly separated at some points...

    Anon Poking buttcheeks/inappropriate?

It could just be that I've been in abusive gyms in the past, but I think it depends on the context and gender of the coach. For a male coach, no way in heck that would ever be appropriate unless the gymnast was falling and he had to touch her there to catch her to prevent injury or something of...

    Gymnasts Losing Things

I've never been underweight. (I'm bulimic if that helps to know at all). I've always had a fair amount of strength. I'll even be taking a strength and conditioning class through school second semester. I've never gotten stress fractures. It is a bit easier for me to get injured though due to a...

    Gymnasts Losing Things

So I'm a retired gymnast but I'm trying to keep all the floor and bars skills I had as they'll come in handy while I transition into American Ninja Warrior training. (Yes my goal is to get on the show maybe someday not sure yet). Long story short, I was in a residential treatment center (RTC)...
