    NCAA NCAA Women's Regionals

I honestly have to agree with it being an "i finished my routine without a fall" score. Which is sad honestly. This is a sport. It should be judged as so.

    Parents Finish Times (Late Workouts)

When I competed Xcel Silver at my first gym our age range was 8-14 and we practiced 2x a week the first from 6-9 the second from 5:30-8:30. Of course the earlier practice was a Friday, so it didn't matter how late we were up that night. I had to be up at 6:45 for school the next day (8th grade)...

Gymnasts HS Senior - life after gymnastics

Sometimes it takes a hot minute to find something new you enjoy. Maybe it would be worth looking into a gym near where you're going to college and see if you can coach there when you go to school? I also spend a lot of time reading. Finding the time to stay fit is also great. Personally I...

Gymnasts HS Senior - life after gymnastics

I'm a HS Junior but I graduate this spring! I actually medically retired from gymnastics after freshman year. When I retired I found it helpful to pick up a new hobby. I now knit and do tunisian crochet. Do you know what you're studying in college? Maybe you could start doing something in that...

Gymnasts Evening state meet - how do I stay energized?!

Try to take your mind off the meet. Don't stress out. Try some coloring pages or a bath. Make sure you fuel well too.

Off Topic Introductions Thread (2025 Version)

Hi! I'm a retired gymnast. Was set to compete Xcel Platinum before my body started to give out on me and I had to retire. Once I get my drivers license I intend to get a coaching job. I really enjoy watching college gymnastics and elite gymnastics. I still keep up with all of my skills on a...

Parents Picky Eaters & Milk Drinkers Vs. Muscle Mass

Yes in my household we have been raised to eat what's in front of us. Now that the oldest 2 of us are old enough to make our own food we will sometimes make something else if we don't like it, but we eat most things because we were raised on the eat what you have philosophy.

Women Knee Compression Sleeve at Meet

That's usually up to the gym. I've worn a knee sleeve before (in Xcel Silver and Gold) with no deduction and it was black with a white and gold logo. If your doctor/PT/whoever is a medical professional has said to wear it then I would wear it and not worry about the deductions if there are any.

    Injury Ankle Brace Recommendations

I'm hypermobile (diagnosed condition) and consistently have ankle problems. I've got 2 different lace up figure 8 braces that are fitted to my ankles. They've talked about doing ones with hinges (I didn't know it was a thing!) for my ankles. I quit gymnastics cuz I kept destroying my knees and...

    Injury Ankle Brace Recommendations

I've always used lace up figure 8 braces. Both times I've been fitted after breaking my ankle and once after spraining it that's what I've been fitted for. The ones I've used allow for normal up and down motion but limit side to side and circular motion. I prefer lace up braces because they...

Gymnasts Meet bun for medium length wavy hair

Hair net with a donut. Also, a pound of hairspray. Oh, and braids. French braid into the bun, two if you can. Then you can do a bunch of little braids for the hair if you need to. Otherwise you should be good.

    Parents Level 4 no grips

Not sure if it's allowed in competition, though I would assume it is. It's not usually necessary in competition. She could also go first on her team so that it's not necessary during competition. I have seen bars wiped down during competition. Could they teach her to wipe down the bar herself...
