Why do male gymnasts compete so much longer than females?

I remember when I was watching the olympics, they were saying Nastia will probably be to old to compete next time. But I've seen guys compete in their late thirtys.

    Parents Mock Meet Compete!!

We are breathing easier up in the tundra! LOL. The meet ran capital cup, with the L7's going first. When the L7's were talking to the judge the L8's & L10's warmed up. Then while the L8's and L10's went the L7's would warm up the next event. It was run very well we were done in just over 2...

Parents Does your gymmie compete with another gymnast?

Or maybe I am wording it wrong. Maybe a rivalry with another gymnast for skills? Though she admits she is happy for her friend to get the skill, but jealous that she can't do it and then she pushes her self to get it. My DD recently started to really try to get the same skills her teammate...

Parents What advise do you give you child before they compete?

I always tell my dd- Go Slow (finish every move) Think about what you are doing and how lucky you are to be doing it. Smile (Enjoy) She has a tendancy to rush. Everything looks so much better when you go slow and finish every move. It seems to work for her. She loves performing.

Why do people compete more in long sleeves?

Just curious. But it seems for competitions everyone is always in a long sleeved leotard. In skating its the opposite they were sleeveless. Partially because of sweating and ruining the look :) Is it considered more formal or something.

    Starting to compete?

Hey guys!!! I am in currently in 8th grade and a friend of mine would like to start a team once we start high school. She learned that you can start a highschool team as long as you follow the requirements. We are all not going to go to the same schoools but that is ok, as long as the...
