Do you ponytail, or braid or anything different for practice? What hairstyle stays the best when flipping? I usually bun it, though I often have to redo it.
What do you (or your dd) do about your hair for practice? Pigtails, bun, ponytail? Do you keep your hair long or short and does gymnastics affect that decision? My long hair is always getting in my face and stuck in my grips and a bun doesn't stay, it falls out:( any suggestions?
My 8YO has wavy, not extra thick hair. Regardless of my endless attempts, her hair is, well, a mess when I pick her up from PracMy 8YO has wavy, not extra thick hair. Regardless of my endless attempts, her hair is, well, a mess when I pick her up from Practice. It’s not a big deal of course...
So, I might join the Xcel team at my gym. I know that at meets, the girls on the regular team have to wear their hair in a bun to meets. Do the Xcel girls have to do that too? Because if so, I don't know what I will do, since my mom is hopeless at doing hair, and I can't do a bun in my own hair...
My little one is what I would describe as a "pretty tomboy" (though she has disallowed the term "tomboy" and wants me to call her a "sports princess"). The metal image that the term 'tomboy" evokes describes her daily activity pretty well. Running, jumping, flipping, wrestling, and on and on...
I'm stoked because my competition season is over and I am getting a free makeover (hair cut, color and style) I'm seriously considering chopping a good bit of my hair off. Possibly to the point it won't be able to be pulled back. But not so short like a boy cut.
I am wondering if you have...
It took FOREVER, but because I can't braid to save my life, and DD's hair is SO thin and slides out of everything anyway, I figured I'd give it a go.
She slept on it last night and it held perfectly!
PS - I curled that pony within an inch of it's life :o and that's about 20 minutes later...
OK, I have a group of parents showing up to make 40 hair ribbons/bows TODAY for a meet this weekend. Don't ask... it was my own idea, and yes, it was totally last minute. But I was hoping that the HC would weigh in with a suggestion of what I should be making, and she hasn't yet, and I have...
I have a meet a week from today and obviously we are required to wear our hair back.I have fairly long hair that is layered and hits about mid-chest.The problem is that if, when up, it reaches our back(which mine does) then we are required to wear it in a bun,but my hair will not stay in a bun...
I've seen a few posts about hair styles in the archived messages, but I'm wondering if some of you might share with me the actual products you use to keep hair in place.
My daughters have fine, black, straight, Asian hair and it is beautifully shiny, but does not stay up unless I wet it and...
Well, the other night I took them into the gym and we wrapped them around the water bottles the girls will get. Let's just say..next time I will think more than twice about saying "how easy" it is to make hair scrunchies. I ended up making 500 of them. It isn't as easy when you make that...
Do you think hair bows in a competition is a yay or a nay?I think they look very cute but are they too distracting in your opinion?Link Removed (something alone these line?
I know there have been many many MANY posts on competition hairstyles. But, most are old, and if I respond to one of them Bog will slap my hands..lol.
My DD has long hair, 3/4 down her back. Its SUPER fine. It's hard to get it to stay up in anything. She has let her bangs grow out since last...
Okay, well, we had been talking about how the girls were going to wear their hair, or how they had in the past. Some of the more seasoned moms said something about a sock bun. That, that is what they do, and it makes beautiful curls that last. So I went on youtube to see what my wandering eye...
Is a girl allowed to have hairpins in her hair when competing (or even practicing for that matter)?
I have searched for information on this question in previous threads, but I can't quite find the answer that I need.
I believe that gymnasts MAY NOT use hairpins, bobby pins in their hair...
OK, I have been getting rather bored with my hair, i'm trying to grow it but my hair doesn't like to grow and its getting to an annoying length because of gym it just gets in the way. I think i want to keep it at the length it is but the question is about fringes.
I have had fringe (or bangs if...
My daughter has hair that's barely longer than a bob - not quite down to her shoulders yet. She just started on a team and her hair is out of control, even just in practice. Does anyone have any advice for a relatively new gymnastics mom for hair styles? Even something simple for practicing...
ok so, we all know the high ponytail, the ballet bun, the braid bun etc... I need something new and fun for practices or meets. have any Ideas!? I REALLY appreciate it. (I have long hair that goes down to a little less then mid- back) thank you!! :D
