Hello.
I'm not a gymnast, nor do I have very much knowledge of gymnastics, which is why I'm here! I'm a writer, and am writing a story with a gymnast as the main character, and I was trying to find REQUIRED skills for a Level 10 men's gymnast. I was able to find a PDF of required skills for WAG...
This could really impact the future of MAG in colleges. I am a little worried (although I am working hard at not worrying about things that I do not have control over.) What does everyone think...
There was a thread started in the awesome college group, which i felt needed to not be lost.
How will the current covid 19 situation affect your college bound gymnast, or you current college gymnast?
Just FYI in case you missed it: JBS posted a message in the MAG parents Group (and in the "what's new" section but I never would have seen it there) that the groups section of Chalkbucket is closing on April 24.
Just heard from our coach that nationals have been cancelled. I am sure they will send out more info later on whether or not they are trying to see about rescheduling. But for now, the word is, cancelled.
Our family recently saw a boys' meet for the first time, and OH MY GOODNESS was it different from a girls' meet! Everyone, including the judges, was friendly and relaxed. Nobody was timing falls or routines. There was no horrid compulsory music. The boys' compulsory routines looked more...
I was wondering if USAG, given all the issues with WAG, are going to be giving attention to the issues currently facing MAG? Colleges are eliminating their teams. The whole JO/JD system and Div 1/2 in compulsory seems to be a shambles where even the most knowledgeable coaches have no idea what...

The UIC Gymnastics Team and coaching staff were informed this morning that 2018-2019 would be our final season. We now have two goals: continue to train like champions and have this decision reversed. If you would like to voice your concerns to the UIC administration...
We are looking for a coach who would like to relocate to Germany. You would train girls who already competed at the german youth championships and boys who are training for them and the 2. Bundesliga. We are a great team of coaches and gymnasts. If you are interested please feel free to ask. I...
It might seem unfair that a potential USAG decertification could affect MAG as well as WAG, but in the big picture of what is healthy for athletes, it may be warranted. It is a reality that should be considered as the calls for USAG decertification will only increase in the coming weeks as...
So, D is heading into high school next year. Over the years, I have read a lot about recruiting for college for girls, but not really for boys. I have a few questions.
1. Is there anything he should be doing now to start the process? If not now, when?
2. What kinds of things should he do...
Some questions about shoulder flexibility in men's gymnastics...
YDS (just turned 8) has finished level 4 season and they are starting to work on level 5 skills...high bar kip, front handspring, etc. The coach mentioned the other night that he has tight shoulders and will need to work on...
