Hi guys,
I am a coach from the UK and we have some WAG gymnasts doing a competition in Florida next year. We are trying to decide what level everyone should do and I'm finding the rules really hard to follow.
I have one gymnast in particular who does not compete backwards skills generally...
So I'm non binary. Just wondering what the rules are. I'm biologically female, and hoping to compete in women's gymnastics but I wasn't sure if my gender identity plays a role into anything IHSA wise. Also curious on the guidelines of this for USAG. Thoughts?
So we are considering a gym move. A mom from our current team mentioned the possibility of another gym moving my DD down a level since their standards are higher than USAG. They require fairly high scores during season in order to move up. If my child competed level 4 this year, is it even...
My daughter competed Xcel Bronze last year and is now moving to the DP Level 3. The coach wants her at L3 even though she has every L3 skill and basically most L4 (she even has her Kip). My DD is 10 and she would prefer to be with kids her age and her skill level.
I was reading the rules of...
Does anyone think that stirrup pants worn in men's gymnastics look a bit dated and old fashioned now? Shouldn't they at least have the option of wearing shorts on all apparatus as they have for floor and vault? They seem to be worn for 'tradition' rather than practicality.
Please help me navigate the rules for changing gyms. Not that we are changing gyms, but there have been some not so nice things happen at our gym, and I would like to look at others. I learned today that by going and looking at another gym, we can lose the opportunity to stay with our gym. So if...

So it looks like NCAA is moving toward allowing student athletes to seek out endorsement compensation and make money from their brand and social...
Hello!
dd has been told by a team mate that NCAA recruiting rules have changed due to COVID.
she graduates in 2023, so our plan was to start eMailing and getting more proactive around christmas.
However a couple of her team mates have been contacted and had video calls this week. Same grad...
So I’ll probably regret posting this, but it seems the new rule about when colleges can make an offer to gymnasts isn’t being followed. In the past week, I’ve seen several commitment announcements for gymnasts in grades 7, 8, and 9. Seventh grade!!? So anyone who has the inside scoop, is the...
So having discussed whether the system is fair, I'm trying to track down a bit more detailed info about the Challenge Cup. In particular I would like to find the rules. At the British there are FIG modifications for Espoirs and Juniors and these include GB bonuses and penalties. Are Challenge...
I thought I saw on FB something about changes to recruiting, but when I went back it seemed to have vanished. I had not had the chance to read it, so I was wondering if anyone knew of changes coming out for recruiting? TIA! Thanks!
I know this doesn’t affect too many, but for anyone interested, USAIGC just added some skills that can be done in some levels. I’d love to discuss with any other IGCers!

So it sounds like recruiting at camps is out and official visits can start Junior year.
Do we think this is going to change anything or limit early recruiting in any way?
There has been a bit of a shift at our gym, and there is a new team director who wants to make some positive changes.
The kids currently on team need a total overhaul. They are super sweet kids, but most of their behavior and work ethic would absolutely not fly at another gym. They remind me...
This is obviously just for fun, as I'm assuming none of us has any authority here!
I was thinking last night that at least once you hit about L6, they should divide competition into how many years you've done that level. So, instead of having a division like L6/D1/8-9, you'd have L6/1st year or...
Anyone know where I can find these? (I did try searching, but couldn't find anything.) DS has been told that he needs a different haircut - which is fine, rules are rules - but we'd rather not make a mistake again. DH is just kind of annoyed because he just took DS to get the cut a week ago and...
do you think this will really change how recruiting for college gym is done? There has been a lot of talk around lately about the rules changing and how this will (might? should?) affect early verbals, but I was wondering what the community thinks it will look like IRL. Are there loopholes...
