Hello! I'm a design student currently working on a 2-week project that involves designing training shoes for circus performers (which in essence are gymnasts). It would great if I could get some feedback, especially from people with first hand experience, on some of the designs I've been...

    Gymnastics shoes?

I don't see anyone wear gymnastics shoes anymore. Why is that? I was thinking about getting DD some because her feet are so gross. They are peeling and cracked. We do lotion every night. Her dad suggested I just buy her some shoes. He wore them as a gymnast and now as a coach. I just...

Hi, I was wondering if any of you wear them? Our coach said that we can get them if we want to use on beam and floor but they cost a lot and take ages to wear in like grips. Do you like them? Beam Shoes - Yes or No?

Ok in another thread you read about my DD's blisters on the balls of her foot. Lots of full turns on the beam and floor. Well now DD is wondering if Beam shoes might be something she wants - she was hinting away at them after practice on Wed. Our gym does allow the girls to wear the gym...

    Parents Beam, Vault, Floor shoes?

Hi, at a meet this weekend we saw a team wearing shoes for beam, vault and floor. We've never seen any girls do that before. What is the purpose of wearing them - do they really help the girls grip the floor, beam better? Give better traction for vault and tumbling?

:cool:She custom designs shoes and I told her I wanted shoes in my dds team colors that she could wear at meets since it's too cold during our season for flipflops. My dd loves them :cloud9: Link Removed

    Coaches Gymnastics Shoes

To be honest I never used gym shoes but was wondering if they actually make any difference? I think barefoot on floor and vault is the most effective but was wondering if anyone knows the real reason gym shoes were invented... My guess, someone in a gym with no heater wanted shoes on their feet...

    Coaches vaulting shoes

Hi coaches, DO any of your gymnasts wear shoes to vault ? Oldest DD is coming back from achilles pain/injury. The sport tharapist thinks it would be a good idea to return to vault slowly and wearing some kind of footwear. What would you recommend?
